Send us this baby and my family will take very good care of her special needs. We already have one daughter from Gautemala that has traveled the same road as Abigail. Our Zoie is turning 7 next month and is the most intelligent, loving, outgoing child ever. Rough starts do not mean rough endings. Zoie overcame a lot of medical issues related to her severe mal-nutrition, dental problems and eating disorders. The first several months of bonding and adjusting was not easy but consistancy provailed. I do believe Abigail would have a better chance of recouping if she were in a foster family situation. That has to be the edge that worked for Zoie. Thank God for foster families in Guatemala. I would like more information on Abigail.

Hello,
My daughter was born premature at 27 weeks, and spent 72 days in NICU. I lost my first 9 years ago this month, he was born too soon. My daughter is now 7, almost 8 years old. My husband and I have thought about adopting. I heard about Doris Van Stone on 'Hope for the Heart' by June Hunt. So in searching for more about Doris, I came across this.

I haven't been to Guatemala YET!!! But my family certainly has. My husband, Ed, my son, Jeff, my daughter, Amy and her husband Kevin along with two of their children, Ellie and Joe were there. The first trip, Jeff's wife, Sue was there too. And she's been back! My adorable grandson, Eli, is from Guatemala and we are so thankful for him. I have stayed home to watch other grandchildren, but have been with all of them and all of you and the children in my thoughts and prayers. There isn't a day that goes by without praying for all of you. May God bless you as you minister to these precious children!

Dear Dr. Castro,

I visited Dories Promise in July , with a group from St. Joseph Catholic Church, Minnesota. Just a little reminder, the group that tended to the flood, when the water main broke. I just wanted to say Thank you for sharing your story, but most of all for answering Gods call for the good of others, for the children. You have been chosen and blessed to use your talents in caring for these special ones of God.
My experience at Dories Promise was a life changing one. I think of all of you often and pray for the continued work you all do to make a difference in these children s lives.
I teach 9th grade conformation at church. Last night at class , a few of us showed our photo's and shared the many stories form our travels to Guatemala. They were in awe by the end of the presentation. We talked about you and your work at Dories Promise and the Special mom's that care for the children there. We are looking to return in 2012. Wish it was sooner, we must fund raise to make it possible again.

Just wanted you to know that you all are in my prayers and I think of you often.
You are not forgotten....................

May the season of Christmas, bring Joy, Hope and Love to you all,

Merry Christmas and all the best for a prosperous New Year,
PEACE,

Peg Warner

P.S. wish I could send photo's, would love to share with you the amount of snow we have here..........PILES

Wow! I can't believe it's been a year, Heather, since you and I talked on the phone about this wonderful new ministry! You and your Guatemalan team have accomplished so much in that year. I have been so inspired by all of your hard work and commitment, and so thankful to have all of you to look to as an example of the power of God's love through people. Every time I look at my Keyla and Sabrina, I am so grateful for all of you. They, and all the other children you have cared for, are so blessed by all of you!
